Step into the world of lino printmaking in this exciting 4-week course, perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to try something new and creative. You’ll learn how to design, carve, ink, and print your own unique artworks for a festive holiday card, using traditional relief printing techniques.
Across four relaxed and supportive sessions, you’ll explore mark-making, develop your own designs, and experiment with both black-and-white and colour printing. Guided step-by-step, you’ll build confidence with specialist tools and processes, leading to the creation of your own series of hand-printed pieces.

Suitable for complete beginners to those with experience, the Extended Foundation Course is an exciting, hands-on programme designed to develop your creative practice with confidence, direction, and clarity. Through experimentation, making, and critical thinking, you’ll be encouraged to push ideas further and build a confident and informed portfolio of exciting work.
What sets this course apart is its unique blend of in-person group learning and tailored one-to-one tutorials. Each session provides focused, personal feedback to help you refine your work, overcome challenges, and move your practice forward with purpose.
In the studio sessions, you’ll be part of an open, supportive environment built around discussion, informal critique, and shared ideas. This collaborative space helps build confidence, encourages experimentation, and offers valuable insight from both peers and tutors as your work develops.

In full prior to course start (£1250 in-person / £700 online)

Over four weeks, you’ll return to the foundations of drawing, not just sketching what you see, but learning how to see with greater accuracy and intention. This course is designed to build your confidence by introducing key formal drawing principles and showing you how to apply them in a clear, practical way.
Through engaging, guided exercises, you’ll develop your understanding of proportion, line, tone, and measurement, learning techniques that help you draw with greater precision and control. Alongside this, you’ll pick up simple but effective methods artists use to check accuracy, refine their work, and avoid common pitfalls.
With a balance of structured learning and supportive guidance, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to approach drawing with clarity, control, and a stronger sense of ability, while still enjoying the creative and mindful qualities that make drawing so satisfying.

Across six weeks, this oil painting course offers a supportive and accessible introduction to working with oils, suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some prior experience who want to build confidence and refine their practice. For beginners, the course establishes a clear foundation in essential materials and techniques, including surface preparation, paint handling, colour mixing, and the step-by-step construction of a painting. For those with experience, it provides space to develop further through practical guidance, tailored feedback, and tips to help improve control, consistency, and expression.
Through a balance of guided exercises and open painting time, you’ll explore brushwork, layering, composition, and colour relationships in a hands-on, practical way. The emphasis is on learning through doing, with encouragement to experiment, reflect, and develop your own approach to the medium.
