James Lark

Founder & Creative Director, OhMyArt

Hi, I am James Lark, Founder and Creative Director of OhMyArt!, based in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire.

I’ve bring over 20 years working as a professional fine artist and teaching art and creativity across mainstream education across Hertfordshire and Essex for students aged 11 to 19. Alongside my practice, I’ve taken on leadership roles in education and I serve as a governor of a local primary school. In addition to this, I am the founder of ‘Herts Art Teachers’, a professional networking group for art educators. This combination of creativity and strategic experience has given me a deep understanding of how art can unlock potential, whether in individuals, schools, or communities or in business organisations.

I’m passionate about the power of creativity to inspire confidence, improve wellbeing, and spark new ways of thinking. Through OhMyArt!, I bring together my love of making art with my experience in education to offer tailored workshops, consultancy, and mentoring that help people connect with their creative side, no matter their background or skill level. When I’m not working with clients, I continue to create and exhibit my own artwork, always exploring fresh ways to push creative boundaries.

I also have a passion for developing the potential within the youth generation and offer life coaching and personal development programmes to support the next generation.

Outside of my work with clients, I continue to create and exhibit my own artwork, always exploring new directions and creative challenges.

Examples of my personal work

I am an artist with a diverse creative output, working in a range of media and materials. Whilst I primarily work in oil paints, I enjoy developing my artistic repertoire through exploration and experimentation.

A large abstract portrait painting of a woman's face with expressive brushstrokes, bright colors, and graffiti-like elements on a textured wooden panel.
A religious painting depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ with several mourning figures around him, including a woman with a white head covering, another woman with dark hair, and a man with a beard and red cloak.
Painting of a woman with closed eyes and dark hair wearing a golden halo, set against a dark background.
A painting of an older woman with short gray hair, wearing a colorful floral scarf, with a neon pink crown drawn above her head.
